News: Frank Ocean Discusses "Channel Orange" Early Release And Recording Album

Frank Ocean called into BBC Radio One and discussed keeping his album from leaking, why the album was released digitally a week early, and what he wanted to achieve musically.
The buzz continues to mount around Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange which was released a week early digitally, and hits stores July 17th. Ocean discussed the decision to release the album a week early digitally with BBC Radio One, saying it was the plan all along to release it early as a pre-emptive measure to thwart the album from leaking. “It was the plan all along, I kinda wanted to mirror Watch the Throne, preventing the leak by staggering physical and digital dates”.
The singer wanted the album to make the impact, and not have a frenzy created from a leaked release, “kinda let the music just speak for itself” Ocean said, “and not be in a situation where the album leaked”.
They’ve been so careful in keeping the album from being pirated early that even Frank Ocean himself hasn’t seen a physical copy, “they never went on trucks...I haven’t even held one in my hands”.
A majority of the album was recorded in a plush California home which was rented out. Ocean found it important to expand his creativity on Channel Orange, “I wanted to do things I hadn’t done before structurally with songs...I wanted to go different places sonically”. The soulful singer added, “[I] tried to make something true to what I think the future should be music-wise”.
His performance on the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon was his first major live appearance, and Ocean says he only wants to perform live when he can really bring something special to the performance, and will not do a plethora of appearances if it will hinder the quality. “I want to do the best show possible when I can...if that means a lesser volume of appearances then so be it”, Ocean said.
He will be on a national tour, and then be on the festival circuit, and afterwards will be on “a studio run with Coldplay”. You can stream Channel Orange for free now, and purchase it on iTunes. It hits retailers this Tuesday, July 17th.

News: Drake Says He Will Not Respond To Common & More
While Nah Right's Nation was on the set for The Weeknd's "The Zone," he asked Drake the questions we've all been wondering about (but I think we all kinda assumed the answer he gave): will he respond to Common? No. Peep the interview below.
So people want to know: will you respond to Common?
No. Because despite how it’s been worded by him that situation is not a “hip hop moment” or a “battle for the sake of musical integrity”…it’s a ploy for attention around the release of an album. More than anything it was just disappointing cause what kid isn’t a fan of what Common has done for our genre. A guy who made such an incredible career for himself based off expressing genuine feelings about life and love is now targeting me for sharing my story.
There’s a line from your “Stay Schemin” verse about Kobe’s soon to be ex-wife Vanessa that has gotten some negative attention. Can you speak to what you were trying to express with that line?
That line came from a conversation about being this young and making this much money and the fear of losing it all. I just used his potential situation to address my own life. I never intended to offend Vanessa or anyone else. That line had everything to do with me and what goes on in my head as a 25 year old man with this much income flowing in. Kobe is and always will be a friend and an icon to me.
What are your plans for OVO/XO?
OVO and XO will grow immensely both separately and together this year. The Weeknd is about to hit the road and come perform all that incredible music for his fans. I’m looking forward to piecing something together where we can share a stage and give people the full experience.
What’s next for you, besides the tour?
I have begun working on new music already and I’ll be recording during the whole college tour with 40. Making better music and building myself as a business is all that’s on my mind. Hopefully some acting as well.

News: Amber Rose's Former Publicist Says She Stole & Cheated On Kanye West
The controversy surrounding Amber Rose continues.
In recent weeks, the former stripper-turned-socialite has been making her rounds, promoting a new Wiz Khalifa-assisted single and an upcoming movie role ... but has also come out making claims that Kim Kardashian was the contributing factor to her break-up with Kanye West.
Rose's former publicist has come forward making his own set of claims, though, which contradict her story.
Her former publicist, Janero Marchand, recently spoke to TheYBF.com, saying that Kim didn't break her and Kanye up, but instead, Amber did ... with her infidelity and thieving ways.
He claims to have been the person that initially introduced Rose to Kanye, who went on to hire her to star in a music video to his song, "Robocop." However, she tried to steal his commission and lie about it.
And ... that's just the tip of the iceberg of what he had to say.
"I was the person who introduced Kanye West and Amber Rose. Amber wanted me to lie to Kanye when he asked me about her stealing. My integrity and morals I was raised on would not allow me to do something like that," Marchand said. "I just want the public to know that I am a man that conducts my business with integrity and morals. And, I support my clients 100% until they do something that is unethical or unlawful business wise. I never had intentions to speak on this subject, but seeing Amber being dishonest to the media about the reason she and Kanye broke up was the last straw.
"Kanye is a good person. He helped book my first two music videos, and if it wasn't for him co-signing Amber, she would not be in the position she is in today," he continued.
According to Marchand, Rose allowed the appeal of money and fame get in the way of self-respect and diginity ... and for this reason, Kanye broke up with her, among other things.
"Amber Rose allowed fame, money, and greed to get in the way of her self respect, dignity, and morals. Kim Kardashian did not break up their relationship, Amber did," he said. "Amber's lack of gratitude and disrespect for the people who paved the way for her is unconscionable and repugnant."
He claims Rose got paid $100,000 for her appearance in Kanye's "Robocop," and after got paid, tried to lie about it in an attempt to cut him out.
Marchand uses this as one example of the model's stealing ways, in addition to trying to steal from Kanye too.
"That 'Robocop' video was set to really break Amber's career and make her a movie star since 90% of the video was centered around her. It was a $1 mill budget video, one of Kanye's most expensive videos," Marchand explains. "Amber got paid $100,000 for it and I was suppose to get 20% of that, but she had the people pay her directly and try and cut me out of the equation with hopes I never found out. I knew the guy who paid her for the video and he later told me about it. And when I asked her about the money, she was caught off guard that I knew she already got paid. And told me she only got $10,000, but didn't know I saw the receipt of how much she got paid. So that ended our business relationship indefinitely."
And as for the reason why "Robocop" was never released, Marchand claims Kanye shelved it because he caught Amber cheating.
"It was put on hold and never released after Kanye caught Amber cheating. Kanye to this day thanked me for my honesty," Marchand claims. "Once I told Kanye the truth, he later caught Amber red handed when she accidentally called an ex of hers with him on the phone. He wrote a song about it called 'Blame Game'."
At press time, Rose has not addressed the claims.
According to TheYBF.com, Marchand is prepring the release of a new documentary, titled "The Michael Jordan of Models: This Is Janero," set to drop in February.
